When Dad moved into his little flat, he was so excited about it. Told me all the stuff he wanted to do and i asked him if he wanted to go to meet people and become part of the social group. Nope! “I don’t drink and don’t smoke” i said you can go out and not drink or smoke! I said how about playing cards then. “Nope, don’t gamble either” i said really, dad you don’t have to gamble to play cards. It’s about getting together and having fun. Dads response “whats the point if i can’t drink”. I guess he had a point. Dad was very proud of the fact he gave up drinking and smoking later in life. I just wished he would have been more social and enjoyed his last years more!
